通往泰瑞比西亞的橋

I read this aloud to my fourth grader over three nights, and the way Jess and Leslie’s friendship builds around the running race and the imaginary kingdom felt so real we both got quiet at the ending. The pacing is perfect for a bedtime chapter book, with just enough tension to keep us turning pages

My son couldn't put this book down after the first chapter—the friendship between Jess and Leslie feels so real and raw. The way it handles loss and imagination had both of us tearing up at the end. A beautifully written story that stays with you.

The way the story captures that first rush of friendship and imagination had me tearing up by the final chapters—Katherine Paterson really knows how to write a bittersweet ending. My son finished it in two days and immediately started building a fort in the backyard.
