Der Pfannkuchen, der weglief

The chase through the woods keeps my son guessing what the pancake will do next, and the old ladies' reactions crack him up every single reading. We've read it three nights in a row now and he still grabs it off the shelf first.

My 4-year-old giggles every time the pancake rolls past the three old ladies and escapes into the woods. The story has a fun, rhythmic repetition that makes it perfect for reading aloud during bedtime. I just wish the ending had a little more closure for the pancake.

The illustrations really capture the pancake's mischievous expression as it escapes those three old ladies. My kindergartner loves shouting "Stop that pancake!" on every page. A fun, fast read-aloud that gets the kids giggling every time.
