The way the story describes the bread rising and warming the town really captured my kids' attention during our afternoon reading. It's a cozy, feel-good book that makes you crave fresh bread even in the middle of winter.

I bought this to read with my class during a unit on seasons, and the way the story describes the bread rising "hot and delicious" really captivated them. The illustrations perfectly capture that cozy winter feeling.

My kids asked for this one every night for a week—the way the bread rises and the town warms up is just so cozy. The winter setting feels real and the baker’s determination is sweet without being cheesy.
