Bought this as a gift for my niece and ended up reading half of it myself before wrapping it — the descriptions of the riverside home and the chaos of seven kids really pull you in.

I had forgotten how sharp Ethel Turner’s dialogue is—the scene where Judy talks back to her father still crackles. This edition is light enough to carry in a tote, and the print is a comfortable size for reading in the afternoon sun. Perfect for anyone who loves classic family chaos.

The riverside setting really pulls you into the story, and Judy's mischievous energy makes every chapter fly by. My only small wish is that the paperback had a bit thicker paper, but it's a charming read for the price.
